Voyager Estate Girt by Sea Carbernet Merlot 2010

Tasting Notes:

1) James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion, 2013 Edition
“Deep magenta; leafy notes offset the pure cassis aromas of the bouquet; on the palate the complexity continues to unravel, with olive, cedar and red and black fruits on display; a very high level of quality for the price.” Rating: 93 points.

2) Campbell Mattinson, WWW.WINEFRONT.COM.AU, 2 April 2012

“If you’re a regular cabernet drinker, this one should be on your radar.
This is spot on for me. Medium-weight but not under-powered. Tannic but not challengingly so. Lengthy. Aromatic. It tastes of chocolate, pencils, gravel, gum leaves and a mix of mulberries and pure blackcurrant. It has cabernet written all over it, in a good way. It’s good to go now – but you could cellar it for seven or eight years, without a problem. What’s not to like?” Rating: 92 points

3) Ray Jordan, West Australian, 10 May 2012
“A smooth and seamless medium-bodied cabernet blend. Aromas of red berries and cedary vanillin oak. The palate has a lovely even texture with fine grainy tannins. The fruit is persistent and pure with a delicious suppleness. A very drinkable and approachable wine.” Rating: 90pts

Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Heredad

A drink now, high quality sparkling wine to the table. Light, green-straw hue. rich, crisp, and dry, with very fine bubbles. .If you are looking for a dry and bright citrus fueled sparkling wine, then this is your cup of tea. The opening aromas are from aging on the lees, lightly smokey, with touches of biscuit or bread, which are followed by hints of honey, fruit and flower petals.

Tasting notes:
a) 87 POINTS
"Dusty aromas of apple and mild yeast form the bouquet on this traditional Cava. In the mouth, it's frothy and foamy on contact, while the flavors veer from peppery and dry to apple and citrus. This finishes nice and peppery, with proper dryness for a brut sparkler."
- Wine Enthusiast, May 2013

b) 3 STARS, EXCELLENT, RECOMMENDED
"After four years of secondary fermentation, this limitedrelease wine develops toasted brioche qualities that marry well with the apple and quince notes through the smooth, spicy finish."
- Food & Wine Magazine, Wine Guide 2011

c) 92 POINTS
"A selection of macabeo and parellada grown at estate vineyards in the Alt Penedès, Reserva Heredad is a complex and heady Cava that delivers on its richness without sweetness. Its potent depth of flavor has a smoky minerality and fresh apple-skin notes. This is full and meaty enough to serve with roast chicken or albóndigas de ternera (veal meatballs)."
- Wine & Spirits, June 2011
